US February budget deficit at $216.6 billion

The United States Bureau of Fiscal Service announced on Thursday in its Monthly Treasury Statement that the country's budget deficit was equal to $216.6 billion in February 2022.

Total monthly receipts in the United States amounted to $289.8 billion, with $149 billion coming from individual income taxes, followed by social insurance and retirement receipts with $108 billion.

Total monthly outlays in the country came in at $506.4 billion, the majority coming from income security and social security with $121 billion and $102 billion respectively.

US oil inventories reportedly down by 4.6M barrels
Crude oil inventories in the United States decreased by 4.6 million barrels in the week ending March 25, the American Petroleum Institute's (API) private data reportedly showed on Tuesday.On the other hand, those of distillates were said to have declined by 1.35 million barrels. Gasoline stockpiles were reported to have dropped by 3.28 million barrels. Reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, allegedly dipped by 1.41 million barrels.
