Officials from the United States, Japan and South Korea met to discuss the threat of North Korea's cyberattacks, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The trilateral working group previously held a meeting on the subject in December.

The ministry said the three officials exchanged views on concerns that North Korean IT workers are "obtaining employment under disguised identities from IT companies abroad, generating revenue to help fund the North's nuclear and missile programs, and engaging in malicious cyber activities," the Yonhap news agency reported. They also discussed a shared response, which would include working with the private sector and countries employing North Korean IT workers.
