South Korea and the United States military conducted joint air drills on Wednesday, involving F-22 and F-35 stealth fighters as part of their annual Buddy Squadron training, the South Korean Defense Ministry shared in a statement.

South Korea's marine corps conducted firing drills near the maritime border with North Korea for the first time since Seoul scrapped an inter-Korean military pact early in June.

North Korea has recently flown hundreds of balloons carrying trash and waste towards the South and tested what appeared to be a hypersonic missile off its east coast, according to South Korea's military.
