The United States Senate voted on Wednesday to adjourn the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas 51–49.
Before the voting, the upper congressional chamber found that the two out of three charges the Republican members of the House of Representatives presented against Mayorkas did not meet what the constitution sees as worthy of impeachment.
Mayorkas was impeached on the charges of failing to protect the border and reduce immigration.
