The United States Senate voted on Thursday to grant Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell another four-year term at the central lender's helm.

The Congress' upper chamber voted 80-19 in favor of confirming Powell, who has been nominated for the role by US President Joe Biden in November.

Earlier this week, the chamber confirmed Lisa Cook and Philip Jefferson as members of the central bank's board of governors.
