United States Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said on Wednesday that the US will introduce new sanctions against Russia. "There's more that we're going to do. There's more that we have to do to make sure that Russia has less access to revenues so that they can't fight this unjustifiable war," he told Fox News.
Adeyemo pointed out Russia's sovereign wealth fund, saying that Moscow has been using it to "protect their economy instead of being able to use it to fund their military," including to fund a reinsurance company as Western states refuse to insure Russian oil ships. "More and more, we want to force Russia to make those difficult choices between investing money in their war machine and investing money in propping up their economy," he said.
