The United States and the United Kingdom on Monday jointly imposed sanctions on 11 individuals linked to a criminal network operating under the orders of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

According to the announcement issued by the United States Department of State, this network is involved in various acts of transnational repression, including assassinations and kidnappings of foreign dissidents and opponents of the Iranian regime, with some operations planned within the United States.

"The United States will continue to use all available tools to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its attempts to extend its repression internationally as well as its ongoing human rights abuses against its own people and its actions to sow instability in the Middle East region and beyond," the note concluded.
