United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and United Kingdom security services (MI5) accused China on Wednesday of spying on the countries' economic sectors.
At an event in London, FBI Director Christopher Wray stated that "the Chinese government poses an even more serious threat to western businesses than many sophisticated businesspeople realize." Wray further underlined that Beijing is utilizing "every tool" in an effort to steal Western technology and gain the upper hand on the global market.
His counterpart, MI5 Director Ken McCallum, assured that the countries are "not crying wolf" and that the threat is real, although it "might feel abstract."
