The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt will be deployed to the Middle East to help the command's ability to deter "aggression" and "safeguard regional stability."
The aircraft carrier and destroyers USS Halsey and the USS Daniel Inouye arrived in South Korea's southernmost port city of Busan for joint military exercises amid growing tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The command noted that the carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower would return home after leading the response against Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea. "Flying over 30,000 hours and sailing over 55,000 miles the IKE CSG demonstrated our commitment to regional stability and protected freedom of navigation throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden," the command said.
