US allegedly doesn't plan to pressure Israel by cutting aid

The Biden administration has no plans to pressure Israel to extend the truce and halt its operations by freezing its military support to the country, Politico reported on Wednesday citing three US officials with knowledge on the matter.

"It's not something we're currently pursuing," one of the officials commented. Another one suggested that US President Joe Biden's recent remarks, in which he said this potential conditioning is a "worthwhile thought," was not about the possible shift in Washington's policy on Israel, but rather a look into the head of state's personal frustrations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

One of the officials mentioned that Biden has been critical of Netanyahu in private, expressing worries about his leadership.
