The United States Department of Defense announced on Friday that the US State Department approved a possible military sale of Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $2.19 billion to the Netherlands.
The Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency noted that RTX Corporation will be the principal contractor of the proposed sale, which will include 163 Tomahawk Block V All Up Rounds (AURs); 12 Tomahawk Block IV AURs; up to ten Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control Systems (TTWCS); and up to two Tomahawk Block IV telemetry missiles, as well as engineering and technical expertise to maintain the capability; non-recurring engineering; transportation; and other related elements of logistics and program support.
"The proposed sale will improve the Netherland’s capability to meet current and future threats by utilizing long-range, conventional surface-to-surface missiles with significant standoff range that can neutralize growing threats," the US Defense Department stated.
