The Finnish Defense Forces announced on Sunday in a press release that two United States B-52 Stratofortress bombers flew across the country's airspace.
"The flights were part of training activities. The bombers were supported by two US KC-135 and one US KC-46 aerial refueling aircraft. The aircraft came from Norway and flew across Lapland towards south," the Finnish military explained.
It further added that such exercises are a part of cooperation between the countries, stressing that they boost "interoperability."
