The United States Bureau of Fiscal Service said in its Monthly Treasury Statement on Wednesday that the country's budget surplus was equal to $176 billion in April.
Total monthly receipts in the United States amounted to $639 billion, with $381 billion coming from individual income taxes and $163 billion from social insurance and retirement.
Total monthly outlays in the country came in at $462 billion, most prominently in the Social Security section at $115 billion, followed by Health and Net Interest amounting to $63 billion and $62 billion, respectively.
