Business inventories in the United States rose by 0.2% in February compared to January and stood at $2,590 billion, the Census Bureau said in its latest report on Wednesday. On an annual basis, the figure grew by 2.1%.
The combined value of trade sales and manufacturers' shipments for the reported month, adjusted for seasonal and trading day differences but not for price changes, came in at $1,921.1 billion, climbing 1.2% month-over-month and jumping 3.6% year-over-year.
The ratio between business inventories and sales was 1.35 at the end of February, down from 1.37 a year ago.
