United States National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson said the missile strikes launched by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on Erbil were "reckless and imprecise," in an interview with Rudaw, the Iraqi news outlet.
Watson insisted that no US facilities were targeted in the attack, noting that no harm came to any US personnel. "We have been in touch with senior Iraqi officials as well as officials in the Kurdistan Region," she said, adding that Washington will continue to monitor and "assess" the situation.
"The United States supports the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Iraq," Watson concluded.
