Five United States citizens previously detained in and then released from Iran as a part of a prisoner exchange between the two countries landed home, CNN reported on Tuesday.

The five – Emad Shargi, Morad Tahbaz (both pictured center), Siamak Namazi, and two unnamed people – made their first stop in Doha before completing their journey. Qatar mediated the swap.

Earlier this week, US President Joe Biden welcomed the news of the detainees' return home, stressing that "[w]e will continue to impose costs on Iran for their provocative actions in the region."
