Major United States stock indexes closed higher on Monday after today's volatile trading session ahead of this week's Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates. During the day, the country also published latest data on its housing market conditions, while the yield on the benchmark ten-year United States Treasury note reached 3.5% for the first time since 2011.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.64% or 197 points at 4:00 pm ET, with Nike Inc going up by 2.97%. The Nasdaq 100 increased by 0.77% as Constellation Energy Corp jumped 4.43%. The S&P 500 went up by 0.69% at the close, while WestRock Co marked an increase of 5.48%. The euro traded higher against the American dollar, selling at $1.00238 at 4:00 pm ET.
