Major stock market indexes in the United States closed higher on Monday after the figures concerning manufacturing, manufacturing in the private sector, and construction spending came in lower, but did not deviate much from what was expected.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.13% as Merck and Co. Inc. advanced by 3.31%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.66% or 129 points. The S&P 500 grew by 0.27%. Tesla Inc. was the best performer on the latter two indexes, jumping by 6.05%.
The euro increased by 0.23% against the dollar at 3:59 pm ET to sell for $1.07390.
