Major stock market indexes in the United States closed lower on Tuesday in anticipation of Tesla Inc.'s newest quarterly earnings. Previously, Lockheed Martin Corporation, RTX Corp., 3M Company, and GE Aerospace posted upbeat results as their businesses have seemingly remained unmarred at the moment by President Donald Trump's tariffs.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by 2.66% or 1,016 points as 3M went up by 8.12%. The Nasdaq 100 jumped by 2.63% or 468 points, with MicroStrategy Inc. increasing by 7.95%. The S&P 500 soared by 2.51% or 129 points as Equifax Inc. skyrocketed by 13.84%.
The euro decreased by 0.81% against the dollar at 3:58 pm ET to sell for $1.14216.
