Major stock market indexes in the United States closed lower on Thursday as investors remained vigilant of President Donald Trump's new tariff policies and their impact on global trade. Meanwhile, Adobe Inc. reported worse-than-expected quarterly results, pulling several technology companies down.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged by 1.30% or 536 points as The Home Depot Inc. decreased by 4.79%. The Nasdaq 100 succumbed by 1.89% or 370 points. The S&P 500 sank by 1.39%. Adobe Inc. was the worst performer on the latter two indexes, plummeting by 13.85%.
The euro lost 0.35% to the dollar at 3:58 pm ET to sell for $1.083499.
