US closes mostly higher amid corporate earnings

Stock exchanges in New York closed Tuesday's trading session mostly higher as investors digested the latest batch of corporate earnings.

The Walt Disney Company reported moderate revenue growth during the second quarter of fiscal 2024, booking in $22.08 billion in earnings. Reddit, Lyft, Rivian, and Virgin Galactic are set to publish their quarterly financial results after the bell on Wall Street.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.08% as Merck & Co. Inc. gained 2.20%. The Nasdaq 100 was flat. The S&P 500 climbed 0.13%, with FMC Corporation surging 9.46%. The euro was down 0.12% against the dollar, selling at 1.07563 at 3:53 pm ET.
