The United States strongly condemned the shooting that occurred outside the Old City of Jerusalem on Sunday. The apparent terror attack targeted a bus and nearby vehicles in a parking lot, resulting in at least eight casualties, at least five of whom are US citizens.

"We remain in close contact with our Israeli partners and stand firmly with them in the face of this attack," the State Department said. "Our team in Jerusalem has been working around the clock to support the victims and their families, and will continue to monitor the situation closely."
