Construction spending in the United States amounted to $2.09 trillion in April, falling 0.1% compared to the previous month's revised figure, the US Census Bureau revealed in a report on Monday. Year over year, however, the number jumped 10%.
During the first four months of 2024, construction spending stood at $635.5 billion, surging 10.9% in comparison to the same timeframe in 2023.
Private construction spending was down 0.1% month on month in April, coming in at $1.61 trillion, while public construction spending was at $487.1 billion, 0.2% lower on a monthly basis.
