Construction spending in the United States recorded $2.15 trillion in April, down by 0.4% compared to the previous month's revised figure, the US Census Bureau revealed in a report on Monday. On an annual basis, the figure was 0.5% higher.
Spending on private construction reached $1.63 trillion, 0.7% below the revised March reading. Residential construction decreased by 0.9% to $993 billion in April, while nonresidential construction declined 0.5% to $746 billion. Public construction was $513.5 billion, 0.4% higher than last month's figure.
