Consumer confidence in the United States improved slightly in October, with the Index of Consumer Sentiment at 81.8 or 1.7%, compared to 80.4 in September, according to the final report published by the University of Michigan on Friday. Compared to October 2019, the index dropped 14.3%.
The Current Economic Conditions Index dropped to 85.9 in October from 87.8 in September, a drop of 2.2%. The Index of Consumer Expectations was reported at 79.2, 4.8% higher than September's 75.6.
