The Trump administration is close to reaching a trade agreement in principle with India, Fox Business Senior Correspondent Charles Gasparino reported on Thursday, citing senior Wall Street executives with ties to the White House.
According to the report, the timing of the potential trade deal is not yet known, but the agreement would include all agreed-upon goals and issues that have been resolved, as well as the deadline for the official trade pact. The trade deal may also reportedly be used as a template for any future deals with Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
United States Vice President JD Vance previously said during his visit to India that the two countries have "finalized terms of reference for a trade deal" and announced future cooperation between Washington and New Delhi on energy and technological projects.
