US denies Israel is behind attacks in Lebanon, Iran

EPA/MIKE THEILER

United States Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller said Wednesday that the United States has no information suggesting that Israel is behind the deadly attacks in Lebanon and Iran.

Miller's remarks follow yesterday's drone strike in Beirut, Lebanon's capital that killed Hama's Deputy Chief Saleh al-Arouri, and today's explosions in Iran that have so far claimed the lives of more than 100 people.

During his press briefing, Miller also refuted any suggestions of American involvement in the Iran incident, calling such accusations "ridiculous." The situation remains delicate, with the US closely monitoring developments and calling for restraint from all parties.
