US economy grows by 2.3% in Q4 2024

The United States gross domestic product (GDP) improved by 2.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024 year-on-year, according to the preliminary report by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on Thursday. The US economic growth missed estimates.

The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index increased by 2.3% annually in the fourth quarter, while the core PCE inflation, excluding food and energy, stood at 2.5%.

In the full year, the US GDP grew by 2.8% compared to 2023. The PCE price index rose by 2.5% and the core PCE price index increased by 2.8% from 2023.
