US extends gains, Dow surges over 420 points

Major stock exchanges on Wall Street continued to expand on Monday, with the Dow Jones going above 420 points, shrugging off last week's losses. Trade negotiations remained in the limelight, as it was revealed that the European Union would push back the rollout of its countermeasures against the United States for six months.

The Dow Jones soared 0.97% or 425 points at 10:42 am ET. A minute later, the Nasdaq 100 skyrocketed 1.50% or 340 points and the S&P 500 jumped 1.10%.

The euro traded flat against the dollar at 10:44 am ET, going for 1.15777.
