New orders for manufactured goods in the United States observed a monthly increase of 2.6% or $14.9 billion to come in at $592.9 billion in November, landing higher than analysts predicted, the Census Bureau said in its report published on Friday.
Shipments rose by 0.5% or $2.7 billion compared to the previous month to stand at $580.7 billion. Unfilled orders increased by 1.3% or $17.1 billion to $1,374.8 billion. Inventories grew by 0.1% or $0.6 billion month-on-month to reach $857.1 billion. The inventories-to-shipments ratio came in at 1.48, unchanged from October.
Meanwhile, new orders for manufactured durable goods advanced by 5.4% or $15 billion to $295.2 billion.
