United States stocks widened losses ahead of Wednesday's session on increased concerns over the spillover effects of Silicon Valley Bank's collapse onto the banking sector worldwide. Credit Suisse tumbled 24% to a record low, while markets also pressured other major banking shares.
The Dow Jones sank by 1.75% or 565 points at 8:03 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 tumbled 1.46% or 179 points at the same time. The S&P 500 simultaneously lost 1.87%. The euro plummeted 1.38% against the dollar to sell for 1.05857.
