Major equities in the United States traded mixed in premarket hours on Tuesday, as investors tried to predict the White House's next moves on trade negotiations and potential Russia sanctions.
US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose punitive measures on Moscow if a peace deal in the Ukraine conflict is not reached within 50 days, while also explaining that while he was "disappointed" with his Russian counterpart, he was "not done with him."
At 4:25 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 0.12%, while the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.53% and the S&P 500 climbed 0.31%. A minute later, the euro was up 0.21% against the dollar, trading at 1.16879.
