The United States Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on Tuesday in a statement that the country's State Department approved the potential sale of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers to Poland, alongside related equipment, in a deal that is valued at around $10 billion.
The possible sale is expected to "support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe," the statement read.
Apart from 18 HIMARS launchers, the package would also include 45 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), with over 1,000 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rockets and further communications and support equipment.
