The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is preparing to rescind Harvard University's tax-exempt status, CNN reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

A final decision is expected soon as the Trump administration increases pressure on the Ivy League school for resisting its demands on a change in policies. Education Secretary Linda McMahon reportedly also said the issue was "certainly worth looking into" and suggested the IRS might examine other universities as well.

The administration already blocked over $2 billion in funding to Harvard.
