The number of seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims in the United States decreased by 6,000 compared to the previous week's revised level to 219,000 in the seven days ending March 29, the Department of Labor said in its report published on Thursday. The 4-week moving average declined by 1,250 to 223,000 in the same period.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate for the week ending March 22 went up to 1.3%. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment dropped by 56,000 to 1,903,000. The 4-week moving average went down by 2,250 to 1,870,000.
