US jobless claims down 2,000 to 190,000

Initial jobless claims in the United States for the week ending February 25 decreased by 2,000 compared to the previous week's figure to land at 190,000, the US Department of Labor reported on Thursday. The four-week moving average stood at 193,000, up 1,750 compared to the prior week's average.

The seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate for the week ending February 18 was 1.1%, unchanged from the numbers of the prior week. The seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the same week was 1,655,000, falling 5,000 from the previous week's revised figure. The four-week moving average stood at 1,671,500, increasing by 1,250 compared to the previous week's revised average.
