Major stock markets in the United States traded lower at the closing bell on Thursday as the trade war fueled by the latest US tariffs on automobiles escalated further, with Canada announcing retaliatory levies beginning on April 2.
The Dow Jones slid 0.37% with the 3M Company decreasing 2.78%. The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.59% after Appolovin Corporation crashed 20.12%. At the same time, the S&P 500 slumped 0.33% as General Motors plunged 7.36%.
Meanwhile, the euro gained 0.37% against the dollar and sold for $1.07942 at 3:59 pm ET.
