US lower premarket with data, earnings in focus

Major United States stock markets traded with losses ahead of the opening bell on Tuesday as the earnings season got underway. Bank of America, Lockheed Martin and Morgan Stanley all published their second-quarter reports before the start of the trading session. Investors can also expect fresh data on retail sales, industrial production and business inventories.

The Dow Jones fell by 0.06% at 8:05 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 was down by 0.16%, and the S&P 500 lost 0.10% a minute later.

The euro traded 0.18% higher against the dollar and went for 1.12568 at 8:07 am ET.
