US equity markets ended mixed on Monday as investors analyzed the most recent economic data concerning manufacturing PMI, the manufacturing sector, construction spending, and also listened to a speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
Today, the dollar rose after the Fed said further rate hikes "will likely be appropriate," and the 10-year Treasury yield surged back to near 15-year highs.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones lost 0.22%, with 3M Co. falling 3.62%. The Nasdaq 100 was 0.83% up. The best performer was Zscaler, whose shares climbed 3.47%. The S&P 500 traded flat.
The euro was down by 0.87% against the dollar at 3:59 pm ET, selling for $1.04821.
