The United States military base in Syria, Kharab al-Jir base, has been targeted in the drone attack, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Friday. According to the statement, a fire broke out at the military base after a drone fell into it.
Earlier this week, a rocket attack on a base in Iraq wounded seven Americans. Washington later blamed Iran-backed militia groups for the attack. "The United States will not tolerate attacks on our personnel in the region," US Defense Secretary Austin Lloyd previously said.
