The Supreme Court of British Columbia approved on Monday that the giant Apple Inc. pay a settlement of 14.4 million Canadian dollars to close accusations that blamed the company for running software updates that made iPhone 6 and 7 models slow down their performance, CBC reported.
Although the company said it had previously accepted to pay between 11.1 million and 14.4 million Canadian dollars as part of the settlement, it insisted on denying allegations and arguing that paying is not considered "an admission of wrongdoing," the media said.
The lawsuit was originally filed in 2018, and now it will grant affected consumers between $17.50 and $150 when providing a serial number for their phones.
