Sales of new single‐family houses in the United States saw a monthly decline of 8.1% in June to come in at 590,000, the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development stated in its report issued on Tuesday. On an annual level, the figure decreased by 17.4%.
In June 2022, the median sales price of new houses sold amounted to $402,400, while the average sales price was $456,800. The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of June came in at 457,000, a supply of 9.3 months at the current sales rate.
