The number of oil rigs in the United States increased by 3 to 613 in the week ending November 4 compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.
The number of US gas rigs declined by 1 to 155 during the same week bringing the total number of rigs in the country to 770. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs was up by 163.
In Canada, the number of rigs went down by 3 to 209. The number of oil rigs in Canada decreased by 4 to 141, while the number of gas rigs rose by 1 to 68. Canada's oil rig count was up by 46 compared to the same period in 2021.
