The number of oil rigs in the United States stood at 515 in the week ending September 15, increasing by two compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.
The number of US gas rigs rose by 8 during the same week to reach 121, bringing the total number of rigs in the country to 641. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs was down by 122.
In Canada, the number of rigs went up by 8 to 190. The number of oil rigs in Canada advanced by 6 to 119, and the number of gas rigs grew by 2 to 71. Canada's oil rig count was down by 21 from the same period in 2022.
