Major stock markets in the United States started Thursday's session mostly flat following better-than-expected data reports. The US economy grew by 2% in the first quarter instead of 1.3%, as previously estimated, while the initial jobless claims fell more than predicted. Bank stocks were on the rise ahead of the opening bell after the Federal Reserve indicated all 23 banks tested passed the annual stress test.
The Dow Jones and the Nasdaq 100 were flat at 9:30 am ET, while the S&P 500 lost just 0.07%, with McCormick & Co. Inc. falling by 2.04%.
The euro traded 0.41% lower against the dollar at 9:32 am ET and went for 1.08701.
