Personal spending in the United States increased by 0.7% in December compared to the previous month, according to a report by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on Friday. Personal income added $92 billion or 0.4% on a monthly basis.
The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index rose by 0.3% month-on-month and grew by 2.6%, in line with expectations. Annual core PCE inflation, excluding food and energy, stood at 2.8%.
