The number of jobs in the United States' private sector went up by 807,000 in December, largely above market expectations, the Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) stated in its report released on Wednesday.
Large enterprises added the most jobs in the past period, 389,000. They were followed by midsized enterprises with 214,000. The small ones added 204,000.
Among the sectors, services hired by far the most new employees, 669,000. Leisure and hospitality provided jobs for 246,000 people, and goods-producing and trade, transportation and utilities both did the same for 138,000.
