The administration of United States President Joe Biden could revoke export licenses to American companies for sales to Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co., sources with the knowledge of the matter told the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

Earlier, the US reportedly planned to only stop granting new licenses to export US technology to Huawei, but is now said to be considering even revoking existing ones.

"The policy that had allowed exports to Huawei, notwithstanding the entity listing, is being wound down," a former senior security official stated. "The White House is now telling Commerce, 'Cut off the 4G sales, the time has come to do more pain to Huawei, to try to finish their demise,'" the person added.
