US sends forces to provide aid to Gaza by sea

UNITED STATES CENTRAL COMMAND

The United States Central Command (CENCOM) announced that the country's army vessel had been dispatched from Joint Base Langley-Eustis to the Eastern Mediterranean "to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza by sea," as previously announced by President Joe Biden.

In his State of the Union Address, Biden announced that he had instructed the US military to construct a port in Gaza to aid in the delivery of aid, including food, and medicinal supplies, to Palestinians. "Besson, a logistics support vessel, is carrying the first equipment to establish a temporary pier to deliver vital humanitarian supplies," CENCOM said in the statement.

Earlier, Washington airdropped another batch of critically needed assistance in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. United States President Joe Biden stressed that there can't be 30,000 more Palestinians dead as a consequence of going after Hamas.
