US sinks deeper, Dow dives over 720 points

Major stock markets in the United States sank further on Friday amid persistent investor worry about the incoming tariffs and the economic uncertainty from the unfolding trade war. Additionally, the latest consumer confidence report further contributed to the bleak mood.

The Dow Jones plunged 1.7% or 721 points at 1:06 pm ET while the Nasdaq 100 nosedived 2.57%. The S&P 500 fell 1.97% at the same minute.

Meanwhile, the euro was 0.18% stronger against the dollar and sold for $1.08196 at 1:07 pm ET.
